'Forbidden Fruit'
If you like a book with mystery, action and a tender love story this could be the one for you.
Blurb:
When PI Sam Young takes on the case of a philandering wife he has no clue it will lead to theft and murder.
And
when he stops for supper at his favorite diner he doesn’t know he’ll
end up meeting Jamie, a young man with aqua eyes who lives in terror of
his ex lover.
It
will take all that is in him for Sam to discover who killed his client,
while at the same time trying to protect Jamie. In the process will he
be able to convince emotionally battered Jamie it is possible to truly
love, and be loved, in return?
Excerpt:
I
leaned back, kicking my feet up on to the corner of my desk and
continued to listen to the man go on and on about why he was certain his
wife was cheating on him with his business partner. He frowned when I
did it. I shrugged. If I had to hear the same old same old again I was
at least going to be comfortable.
My
name’s Samson L Young, Sly to those who know me and love me, all three
of them. Sam, SOB or bastard to the rest, depending on how they feel
about me at the moment. I run my
own private investigation business out of an office in the Quarter in
New Orleans. That’s ‘New ORE Lins’ for the uninformed, not ‘New Ore
LEANS’.
So,
back to the problem at hand. I listened, made occasional notes of
relevant points and then gave him the spiel on what it would cost him.
After he picked his jaw up off the floor he took out his credit card.
“Check or cash, Mr Jennens.”
“But…” he blustered.
“Cash preferred. And if the check bounces, so do you. Get the picture?”
He sighed. Yeah a grown man and he sighed. Then he wrote out a check, signed the contract and left.
Rent paid, and groceries. Not too bad,’I thought as I stuck it in my wallet.
Now I just have to spend the next couple of days following the wife and catching her in flagrante delicto
as they say. Not fun, boring actually, but that’s what I do a lot of.
Makes you wonder about people. Why hook up if you’re going to cheat on
the man? Or the woman if you’re a dude? Hell, men cheat on men and women
on women as far as that goes. Human nature, grass is greener syndrome
as far as I can figure, and without it I’d be a lot poorer.

So looking forward to this book!
